The Brian Moore Short Story Contest is the most prestigious short story competition in Northern Ireland. It is run by the Creative Writers Network and is currently in its eleventh year.

The contest was established to draw much needed publicity to the Northern Irish writing scene and is open to amateurs and professionals, alike.
The past ten such events have highlighted the excellent writing talent that Northern Ireland has to offer.

This year we hope the event will be bigger and more exciting than ever. The contest will be launched on the 11th Oct at 1.30pm in the John Hewitt Bar and will, for the first time ever, be open to any writer of Irish descent.  This year’s contest will be judged by award-winning novelist Glenn Patterson.

The deadline for submissions is 31st Jan 2008
